West Texas' Favorite Night Spot.

Fat Boss's Pub co-owner John Castillo is proud that he had the foresight to open his Chadbourne Street bar in 2007 — back when most of downtown San Angelo was "a ghost town" in the evenings.

Since its debut, it has inspired other night-life establishments to open in San Angelo's Historic Downtown. Castillo is excited that the downtown area continues to blossom, "Downtown is now the place to be, but it was like a ghost town when I was fixing this bar up," said Castillo, who co-owns his club with his sister, Cyndi.

The long, narrow venue encourages patrons to mingle while listening to a variety of music — including rock, country, rap, hip-hop, jazz and blues

If you want to check out an NFL, NBA or Major League Baseball game, there are plenty of high-definition TVs for that, too.

Behind an immaculate granite-topped bar with a wood finish, you can choose from a selection of wide variety beers on tap, with a mixture of domestic and imported brews. You can also find just about any kind of cocktail you're looking for, especially something a little upscale that you won't find anywhere else in town. If you're a fan of Patron tequila, for example, you can find the entire family of the popular liquor. A bottle of the top-of-the-line Patron sells for over $500 in liquor stores, but if you want to celebrate a special occasion, you can buy a shot of that for $42.

If you drive by Fat Boss's any given Friday or Saturday night, you'll see it's just as popular as the day it opened. In fact, it's such a big hit that sometimes bar patrons have to be turned away.

Obviously, Fat Boss's must have found a formula for success.

The Standard-Times' Reader's Choice Awards voted Fat Boss's Pub one of the Best Local Night Spots in West Texas.

With the success of its' San Angelo establishment, John and Cyndi decided to expand their vision into Abilene, Texas where they opened the Fat Boss's Pub #2 in 2012. Located in the historic McLemore-Bass building, of Abilene's downtown district, the Fat Boss quickly became a local favorite.

The pub boasts a wide bar space and a second floor that can be rented for private parties. The bar offers alcoholic beverages by the bottle or the glass, as well as a variety of beers on tap, including brands not otherwise available locally.

Unlike it's San Angelo location, Fat Boss Abilene offers an American Cuisine restaurant with the option for takeout. To-Go Menu. Open for lunch and dinner, Fat Boss is a popular lunch spot and the spot to come unwind after a hard days work.

With daily Happy Hour and Menu Specials its no wonder why the locals love this place.
